Care and maintenance of NIMCO products
NIMCO bathroom accessories require regular and proper care to preserve their appearance and functionality. Always use suitable cleaning methods and avoid aggressive chemicals and abrasive materials that could damage the surface finish.
Chrome and stainless steel products
Clean chrome surfaces and stainless steel products regularly with warm water and a small amount of standard dishwashing detergent. Afterwards, rinse the product with clean water, polish it with a soft cloth and dry it thoroughly.
For heavier dirt or limescale, vinegar or a vinegar solution can be used. Allow it to act for approximately 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse the product thoroughly with clean water.
For highly polished stainless steel surfaces, use only chlorine-free cleaning products, such as a suitable glass cleaner.
Glass and ceramic parts
Clean glass and ceramic accessories in a similar way to metal components. Use gentle cleaning products and avoid aggressive or abrasive cleaners.
Do not clean glass or ceramic bathroom accessories in a dishwasher.
Mirrors
When a mirror is installed in an environment with permanently high humidity, its edges may gradually darken. If condensed moisture remains on the mirror for extended periods, partial oxidation of the mirror layer may occur, particularly where moisture repeatedly accumulates.
Ensure sufficient ventilation in the bathroom and avoid leaving the edges of the mirror wet for extended periods.
Coloured and polyresin products
Coloured surfaces may gradually show wear in areas exposed to repeated physical contact. With polyresin containers, regular contact with a toilet brush, toothbrushes or other objects may gradually wear the coloured surface layer.
Gradual colour loss around product edges can also result from normal use and natural wear.
Soap dispensers and pumps
The chrome finish on a plastic soap-dispenser pump may gradually wear during normal use. This process can be accelerated by aggressive soaps containing chlorine compounds.
If the dispenser is regularly exposed to such substances, the manufacturer recommends considering an all-metal pump, which provides better resistance.
Cleaning products and methods to avoid
In particular, do not use the following on NIMCO products:
- bleaching or disinfecting agents containing chlorine or chlorine compounds,
- highly concentrated acidic or alkaline cleaners,
- strong oxidising, anti-mould or bleaching agents,
- aggressive construction chemicals intended to remove building-material residues,
- liquid or paste scouring products containing abrasive particles,
- rough cleaning tools or steel wool,
- silver-cleaning immersion baths or similar products,
- cleaning products of unknown composition that could damage the surface finish.
Kitchen salt can also have an adverse effect on product surfaces.
Prevent limescale build-up
Do not allow thick layers of limescale to accumulate on the products. Persistent damp limescale significantly increases the risk of surface damage and corrosion.
Using aggressive cleaners in the bathroom
Aggressive cleaning or disinfecting products may damage bathroom accessories even when they are not applied directly to them. In poorly ventilated spaces, vapours containing chlorine compounds may condense on nearby surfaces and cause damage.
If the use of such products is unavoidable, ensure good ventilation and rinse any affected surfaces thoroughly with clean water as soon as possible.
Proper care extends product life
Regular gentle cleaning, removal of limescale and thorough drying help preserve the appearance and functionality of NIMCO bathroom accessories.
Using unsuitable cleaning products or incorrect maintenance may permanently damage the product and may also affect the assessment of a subsequent warranty claim.
